8. Configuration of Series 72 Transmitters

8.1. Password Protection

As in "CALIB", the program "CONFIG" has password protection to avoid

unwanted changes of configuration. The same 4-digit number is used as in

"CALIB".

8.2. Possible Configurations

The digital electronics of type 72 instruments allow the user to fully customize

the display and outputs. We tried to do this in a practical manner to adapt the

instrument to a variety of applications. The program "CONFIG" gives all users a

choice of:

1) dimension of Temperature (°C or °F)
2) dimension of Humidity (g/kg, g/m

3

, % RH, % RF, °C

Td

, °F

Td

, J)

3) offset correction (e.g. 100°C do not correspond to 10V, but to 10.3V)
4) ranges of temperature and humidity and reactions at sensor breaks

(upload, download or stay at last value).

The configuration of these parameters is done with help of the menu "CONFIG".

8.3. Important Points concerning Configuration

Changing of dimensions does not automatically change all other values, such

as range or alarm points! If the upper limit of an RH-range was at 100%, then

changing to Dewpoint in °C will result in an upper limit of 100°C! For this reason

we advise, to check all limits, after changing dimensions.

8.4. Entering the Program "CONFIG"

From the normal measuring mode you reach the submenu level - where

"CONFIG" is to be found - by hitting "E". The display shows "LIST" and pressing

"M" results in changing the display to "CALIB" and next to "CONFIG". You now

have to enter the Password (see 6.3) and then you enter the programm by

pressing "E". The display now shows "DIM", the first submenu of "CONFIG",

which helps to change the dimensions of humidity and temperature.

8.5. Dimensions of Humidity and Temperature ("DIM")

If "DIM" was entered by "E", the display shows "HUMI". If you want to change

the physical description of humidity (change dimension), you enter "HUMI" by

"E" and now changes can be made by " ". If the dimension you want is in the

display, you acknowledge by "E" and the program steps over to the next point

"TEMP".

If you want to change the existing temperature scale, you enter this menu by

"E". Change of dimension is done in the same way by pressing " ", and "E" will

keep the new dimension in the memory. The display now shows "RETURN" -

or, if you change it with "M", "RUN". Pressing "E" the program jumps back to

"DIM", from "RETURN", or to measuring mode from "RUN".
