- This option allows the bank to subtract cash from the existing amount left in
the cassette(s). Note: This is a temporary adjustment that does not change the “Standard Amount”.
Note: Balancing (including Mid point Increases and Decreases) is performed per cassette.
The bank will need to select Print-Sub Totals option to see the current total dispensed amount for each
cassette from the host. They will then need to compare this amount with the totals printed earlier to see if they
match. If the amounts match, they can continue with the balancing. If the totals don’t match, they will have to
investigate using Electronic Journal records to see where the discrepancies are.
The next step depends on what the bank’s preference is. They can select any one of the following options to
balance the terminal to start the next settlement period:

(should be used for initial cassette setups and configuration) - Here
the bank is telling the Host they want to use a new start amount (higher/lower) for the next settlement period.
Note: Typically used for initial cassette setups and configuration.
1.
The “New Start Amount” will become the “Standard Amount” for the next settlement period.
2.
“Balance to New Start Amount” is typically the settlement method used to initially setup the
terminal.
