ESCRIPTION
:
The CURRENCY DATA Function enables you to enter a seven-character string of parameters that
describes the currency in a cassette (see Figure above). The parameter string consists of: 1.) Cur-
rency Code, 2.) Value and 3.) Variant Code.
CURRENCY CODE.
This is a three-character descriptor for the currency type (example: ‘USD’
represents US Dollars). See the Table on the next page for a listing of supported Currency Codes.
To use the Table, find the country of interest in the left-hand column, then move to the right to find
the description of the currency type in the second column. Move to the third column to find the
specific three-character Currency Code to use for the selected country and currency type.
VALUE.
This three-character parameter describes the denomination of the currency in the cas-
sette. The Value is two-part: a two-character base value and a single-character multiplier. The
Value ‘021’, for example, consists of a base value of ‘02’ and a multiplier of ‘1’. The multiplier
represents the number of zeros to add to the base value. In this example, add one “zero” to ‘02’
(‘02’ + ‘0’), to make ‘020’, which indicates a denomination of twenty (‘USD021’, for example,
represents a twenty US dollar denomination). The value ‘USD012’ would represent a 100 (‘01’ +
‘00’) US dollar denomination.
VARIANT.
This is a single-character that represents the “version” of the note. The Variant Code
should initially be set to “1”; if a new version of the denomination becomes available, contact
Triton Systems Technical Support for an updated Variant Code.
