4.2 TRACTOR HOOK UP
Change the tractor’s hydraulic filter after the first day or two of Seed Hawk
operation. Some debris may have collected in the hydraulic system during
manufacturing. Changing the filter will remove this debris, and prevent is from
damaging components on the seeder and tractor.

Shank lift and lower (Two hoses with red bands)
Connect the pair of 1/2” hydraulic lines to activate the shank lift and lower. The
shank up line is marked with a wide red band, and the shank down line is marked
with a narrow red band. The shank lock-up ball valves must be open in order to
lower the shanks. One is at the hydraulic manifold and the other is at the tractor
hook up location.
It is very important that the hydraulic fluid dump lines
return
unrestricted
back to the tractor hydraulic
reservoir. There are male and female pioneer quick
couplers with the balls removed supplied with the Seed
Hawk. Please use these sets of couplers for your dump
lines. Any alterations or restrictions in this line will
cause damage to the implement that will NOT be
covered by warranty.
NOTE: Do not Tee manifold and fan case drain dump
lines together unless this takes place right at tractor
reservoir. Do not plug this dump line for storage.
