4.9.1 Max/Min

When entering a reset time interval other than 0, it must also be determined with “max” or
“min” if the maximum or minimum value storage will be activated.

4.10 Analog Output

The analog output has to be selected according to the signal input of the
connected instrument (controller, PLC, etc.).

4.11 LED Targeting Light

If the pyrometer is supplied with power, the LED targeting light is automatically activated. You
can configure whether or not the aiming light activates at power-up. You can also manually
turn the targeting light on and off using the targeting icon .

4.12 Subrange

It is possible to configure a temperature subrange (minimum 51 °C) within the basic measuring

range of the pyrometer. This subrange corresponds to the analog output. Reduction of the
temperature range increases the accuracy of the analog output.

Additionally, setting the subrange makes it possible to fulfill the requirements of the “auto”
clear mode of the maximum value storage.

4.13 Ambient Temperature Compensation

The compensation of the ambient temperature can be used at low measuring
temperatures (below 100 °C). This compensation is only used for a few special
applications. The standard setting of this parameter is “auto” because the

temperature of the air around the pyrometer is normally the ambient
temperature of the measured object. Should the measured object be placed
in an area with a higher wall temperature (e.g. inside a furnace), the measurement might be
incorrect (probably too high). This phenomenon can be compensated by presetting the ambient
temperature of the object (presetting within the measuring range of the instrument).

After switching over to “man,” the corresponding data field T(amb) is activated so that the

ambient temperature value can be entered.

Note: This method only improves results if the ambient temperature at the place of

the measured object is always constant and the emissivity is well known.

4.14 Address

In order to connect several pyrometers with RS485 via one serial interface, it
is necessary to give each instrument a unique address for communication. To
give each instrument a unique address, connect each instrument individually.
Using communication software other than InfraWin (InfraWin cannot be used because it
automatically detects a connected pyrometer): If parameters may be changed simultaneously on
all pyrometers, the global Address 98 can be used. This allows you to program all pyrometers
at the same time, regardless of the addresses that have already been assigned. If the address of
a pyrometer is unknown, it is possible to communicate with it using the global Address 99
(connect only one pyrometer).

4.15 Limit Switch (SP1)

The pyrometer comes equipped with one switch contact (opto relais; max. 50 V DC, 0.2 A; max.
power 800 mW), controlled via the measuring signal. The contact is activated with:

Settings:

0 ... 20 mA
4 ... 20 mA
