Asanté FriendlyNet cards and Apple computers and printers with
built-in Ethernet do not directly connect to the Ethernet cable;
instead, an external transceiver, like the Asanté FriendlyNet Media
adapter, is used. This approach lets you change network media by
only changing the external adapter instead of the card.
