Mr. Gasket 1616 Hood Pin Kit - Manual

1. Determine stud location on hood or deck. Mark location, center punch and drill 1/2” diameter hole.
2. Place stud into 1/2” hole, mark location on radiator support. Lift hood, center punch and drill 7/16” hole through
radiator support.
3. Install stud into radiator support by threading 7/16”-20 hex nut onto
stud, insert stud into hole and thread second 7/16”-20 hex nut
onto stud.
4. Adjust stud height so the horizontal hole allows washer and safety
pin to be installed (refer to illustration).
5. Depending on style, locate and install chrome washer by removing
backing paper for self-adhesive type, or drill four (4) 3/32” holes
and screw chrome plate onto top of hood. Install safety hood pin.
It may be necessary to re-adjust stud height.
6. Attach one end of lanyard cable to safety pin and other end to bolt
or nut on radiator support to secure cable.
7. Open and close hood to be sure there is no interference. Hood
should be seated flush with fenders in closed position. Install
safety pins.
8. Replacement scuff plates, lanyard cables and safety clips are
available from Prestolite Performance.
