Connecting the MSG0804 and MSG0808
The MSG Matrix Switchers can be connected to as many as 8 input devices
simultaneously and output up to four (MSG0804) or eight (MSG0808)
simultaneously. Follow the steps below and see the installation example in
figure 2-4.
1 If the MSG Matrix Switcher is to be mounted, see Mounting the Switcher,
earlier in this chapter.
2 Turn off power to the switcher and all other devices that will be connected.
3 Using the BNC input connectors, attach up to eight RGBHV video input
devices to the switcher.
4 Connect up to four output devices to the MSG0804, or eight output devices to
the MSG0808 using the output BNC connectors.
5 For stereo audio input, connect up to eight audio sources to the switcher
using 5 mm, 5-pole captive screw connectors. See the following Audio input
and output section. Connect audio output to the switcher using 5 mm, 5-pole
captive screw connectors.

6 If the switcher is to be connected to a computer or host controller for remote
control, connect the host’s RS-232 cable to the 5-pole captive screw serial port
of the switcher. For an RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 pinout table and dip switch

Power up the input and output devices, then connect power to the
switcher.
