TwinView
Windows 2000
TwinView activates two separate
display devices simultaneously.
TwinView supports analog monitors,
digital flat panels and TVs. Enter the
TwinView dialog from the Display
Properties and Settings tab: click on
the Advanced button and then the
TwinView tab. TwinView functions in
Windows 2000 are nearly identical to
Windows 98/ME; however, the
Extended Desktop Mode is divided into
two separate controls: Horizontal Span
and Vertical Span due to limitations of
the operating system.
NOTE: Changing TwinView modes is
only possible from the Twin View tab.
Standard (TwinView disabled)
Displays the standard, single device mode. Use this mode if you have only one
display device attached to your ASUS graphics adapter.
Clone Mode
This mode duplicates the display area of
the primary desktop monitor to the secondary
display monitor.
Horizontal Span Mode
This mode horizontally extends the Windows
desktop across two display devices. This mode
is useful for viewing items wider than a single
display.
Vertical Span Mode
This mode vertically extends the Windows desktop across
two display devices. This mode is useful for
viewing items taller than a single display.
Display
: Lists all currently available TwinView displays. In all modes except
Standard, use this field to select the current display.
Make this the primary display:
Use this option to select the primary display.
The control switches between displays; the primary display occupies the top left
corner of the display. After switching, the monitors swap positions.
Force detection of a monitor on the secondary connector:
Check this
box if a monitor connected to the secondary display is not being detected. This
function is useful for older monitors or displays connected with BNC connectors.
