PREPARATION OF SURFACE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION

All mounting surfaces must be clean and free of all dirt, wax and
oil prior to the installation. Wipe all areas with the alcohol prep
pad provided and let dry thoroughly.

Temperature should be between 60°F and 90°F during
installation.

MOUNTING LED SIDE BAR WITH ADHESIVE BRACKETS

LED Side Bars are designed to be mounted below the rocker
panel on the pinch weld of the body. They may also be
mounted on rocker panels, running boards, etc. by using the
alternate mounting brackets supplied.

Each kit contains two LED Side bars that are interchangeable
right or left side of the vehicle. The wiring harness is will always
exit the LED Side Baron the right side of the bar. This means that
on the driver’s side, the wiring harness will face the rear of the
vehicle. The wiring harness faces the front of the vehicle on the
passenger side.

Where the LED Side Bar is positioned on the vehicle is optional.
It may be positioned to be centered under the door or centered
within the length of the vehicle’s mounting surface. If centered
within the length of the vehicle’s mounting surface, measure the
area below the rocker panel on the pinch weld to find the center
point and put a mark there. Find the center point of the LED
Side Bar and mark the center of it.

The LED Side Bar may be mounted on either side of the vehicle’s
pinch weld. The plastic mounting brackets will install on either
the front or the back of the LED Side Bar as appropriate.

Peel off the protective backing of the double sided adhesive
mounting tabs. These adhesive tabs affix to the mounting
brackets attached to the LED Side Bar in Step 4. Align the two
center points marked on the pinch weld and on the LED Side
Bar and mount the LED Side Bar. Apply pressure to ensure a
good bond.

ALTERNATE LED SIDE BAR MOUNTING OPTIONS

These instructions apply if the vehicle does not have a pinch
weld or if an installation location other than the pinch weld is
desired. Remember LED Side Bar is better protected if mounted
slightly below the rocker panel. This will prevent passengers
making contact with it.

For best appearance, LED Side Bar should be level. Follow these
instructions to assure a level installation:

Select a mounting location.

The plastic mounting brackets will install on the front side of the
LED Side Bar. Insert hex nut in the plastic mounting bracket.
Attach metal mounting clips to plastic mounting brackets using
screws and countersink washers provided.

Place masking tape on the rocker panel surface at each intended
mounting bracket location. This is where the holes will be drilled
in the rocker panel to mount the LED Side Bar.

Hold LED side bar at the desired mounting location, check for
level and mark the first drill location through the metal
mounting clip.

Drill the first hole with a 5/32” drill bit. Mount with screw
provided, but do not tighten.

Level the LED Side Bar and mark the remaining drill locations
through the metal mounting clips.

Drilling remaining holes with a 5/32” drill bit. Double check to
make sure the LED Side Bar is level. Mount with screws
provided, but do not tighten. Remove all masking tape.

Final check for level. The holes in brackets are slotted to provide
for adjustments up or down. Adjust height if needed. Tighten all
screws when LED Side Bar is level and straight.

WIRING INSTALLATION

ROUTING WIRE LEADS OUT INTO ENGINE
COMPARTMENT.

With door and hood open, route

ORANGE

and BLACK wires up

from rocker panel area and clear of both door hinges. In most
cases the both wires can enter the engine compartment area at
top of fender near hood corner. Many different methods of
routing are possible. Find the best path for your specific vehicle.

Attach wires with wire ties making sure that they do not interfere
with door hinges. It’s a good idea to route wires along OEM
wiring harnesses/ wiring loom paths.

Continue routing

ORANGE

and BLACK wires through engine

compartment to the fuse panel. Be sure to use wire ties to
secure wires out of the path of moving parts and hot spots (fan
belts, fans, exhaust components, etc.)

TAPPING INTO FUSE BLOCK

Locate appropriate fuse panel location to connect LED Side Bar.
The vehicle’s tail light fuse provides the LED side bar with power
when the lights are turned on.

Twist the 2

ORANGE

wires together (one from the passenger

side and 1 from the driver side) and insert into the female spade
terminal provided. Crimp with crimping pliers.

Vehicles use one of two differing fuse designs. One is a mini
blade style and the other is an ATO blade style.

To connect the female spade terminal to the tail light fused
circuit, a fuse tap is required. Two different types of fuse taps
(mini blade and ATO) are provided.

Determine which fuse tap is correct for the vehicle. Select the
correct fuse tap and clip onto the existing fuse to draw power
from this connection. The tap must be installed at the device
(hot) side of the fuse.

Twist together the two black wires for ground and connect to
chassis.

ROUTING WIRE LEAD TO DOOR LIGHT SWITCH

Route the WHITE wires from both LED Side Bars into the interior
of the vehicle. In most cases, the wire may enter the interior of
the vehicle from under the vehicle through a rubber grommet.
It’s a good idea to route wires along OEM wiring harnesses/
wiring loom paths.

Locate the (+) positive wire on the driver’s side door light switch.
Route the WHITE wire from the two LED Side Bars to the driver’s
side of the vehicle. Twist together these two WHITE wires and
connect to the (+) positive wire on the driver’s side door light
switch with wire quick splice terminal provided.
