Clean the Printhead

Clean the Printhead
The printhead can be cleaned without removal.

Caution • Disconnect the printer from the power source before performing the
following procedure.
Remove the power from the printer.
Caution • While performing any tasks near an open printhead, remove all rings,
watches, hanging necklaces, identification badges, or other metallic objects that could
touch the printhead.
Open the printhead by pulling the two release levers back and tilt up the printhead.
Caution • The printhead may be hot and could cause severe burns. Allow the
printhead to cool.
Clean the heat elements with a cotton swab immersed in ethyl or isopropyl alcohol.
Note • Zebra recommends using a clean swab dipped in a solution of isopropyl alcohol
(minimum 90%) and deionized water (maximum 10%) to clean the print head.
