Clearing the sampled data

If you push and hold down the

IN

key and press the

OUT

key (or the other way round) for a second or

two, you will clear the sampled data.

Both the

IN

and

OUT

keys will then go out.

4.4

Bend function

The bend function allows you to change the tempo
during playback by about 8% either up or down,
using the dial. You need to make no settings to enable
or disable this function.

Turning the dial clockwise increases the tempo, and
turning it counterclockwise decreases the tempo.
This action is momentary, i.e. the tempo returns to
normal when the dial stops turning.

BPM

The CD-302 features a BPM (beats per minute) func-
tion for each deck. This is used in the Tempo Sync
and Beat Sync functions.

4.5.1

BPM counter

The BPM counter

M

shows the tempo in beats per

minute of the current material.

An automatic BPM count function and a tap mode
BPM count function are available.

NOTE

It may not be possible for the CD-302 to “read” the
beat automatically if the music contains complex
rhythms. In this case, you should use the TAP func-
tion (described below) to determine the tempo.

4.5.2

Clearing the BPM

To clear the current BPM display, press and hold the

BPM

key

O

for two seconds or more. The BPM will

then be re-read and displayed.

4.5.3

Using the tap mode with the BPM
counter

Tapping the

TAP

key

N

will automatically put the

unit into tap mode, as shown by the

TAP

indicator

beside the BPM counter.

The tap speed, in bpm, will be shown on the BPM
counter.

4.5.4

Clearing the BPM counter (tap)

Press and hold the

TAP

key for two seconds or more

to clear the tapped BPM counter.
