An unreadable language was selected by mistake.
" Press [MENU/SET], select the [SETUP] menu icon [e] and then select the [9]
icon to set the desired language. (P 27 )
When the shutter button is pressed halfway, a red lamp turns on sometimes.
• In dark places, the AF assist lamp (P 78 ) lights red to make it easier to focus on a
subject.
The AF assist lamp does not turn on.
• Is [AF ASSIST LAMP] on the [REC] menu set to [ON]? (P 78 )
• The AF assist lamp does not turn on in bright places.
The camera becomes warm.
• The surface of the camera may become warm during use. This does not affect the
performance or quality of the camera.
The lens clicks.
• When brightness has changed due to the zoom or the movement of the camera or other,
the lens may click and the picture on the screen may be drastically changed: however,
the pictures are not affected. The sound is caused by automatic adjustment of the
aperture. It is not a malfunction.
The clock is reset.
• If you do not use the camera for a long time, the clock setting may be reset.
" When the message [PLEASE SET THE CLOCK] appears, set the clock again. (P 18 )
When pictures are taken using the zoom, they are slightly distorted and the areas
around the subject contain colors which are not actually present.
• It is possible that the subject may be warped slightly or the borders get colored,
depending on the zoom magnification, but this is not a malfunction.
Zooming stops instantaneously.
• When using the Extended Optical Zoom, the zooming action will stop temporarily near
[W]. This is not a malfunction.
