18. Point the lancet down and away from
you. Eject the used lancet into a
container for sharp objects.
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of an acci-
dental needle stick, carefully follow the
lancet and lancing device instructions
for safe removal and disposal of used
lancets.
19. Return the lancing device to its original
position, following the lancing device
instructions.
17. Place the protective
cover on a hard surface
and push the lancet
tip into it.
