The Camcorder: Preparation
Controlling the Sound from the Built-In Speaker
✤ The Built-In Speaker works only in PLAY mode.
✤ When you use the LCD monitor for playback, you
can hear the recorded sound through the Built-In
Speaker.
■ Follow the instructions below to decrease or mute
the speaker volume while in PLAY mode.
■ Take the following steps to decrease/increase
the volume or mute the sound while playing a
cassette on the camcorder.
1. Turn your camcorder on by setting the Power
Switch to PLAY mode.
2. Press the (PLAY/STILL) button to play the
tape.
3. Once the tape is playing and you hear sound, use
the Navigation Wheel to adjust the volume.
■ The Volume Level Display will appear on the
LCD monitor.
Levels may be adjusted between 00 ~ 19. You
will not hear any sound when the volume is set
to 00.
■ If you close the LCD while playing, you will hear
no sound from the speaker.
✤ When the Multi-AV cable is connected to the camcorder, you
cannot hear sound from the Built-In Speaker and cannot adjust the
volume.
✤ The sound will return when you remove the connected Multi-AV
cable from the jack of your Camcorder.

✤ El altavoz incorporado sólo funciona en el Modo
PLAY.
✤ Cuando se usa el monitor LCD para la
reproducción, se puede oír el sonido a través del
altavoz incorporado.
■ Para bajar el volumen o para eliminar el
sonido del altavoz en el Modo PLAY, siga las
instrucciones que aparecen a continuación.
■ Siga los pasos que se indican a continuación
para disminuir / aumentar el volumen o
eliminar el sonido al reproducir una cinta en la
videocámara.
1. Encienda la videocámara colocando el interruptor
de encendido en el Modo PLAY.
2. Pulse el botón (PLAY/STILL) para empezar
la reproducción de la cinta.
3. Al oír los sonidos una vez que la cinta esté en
marcha, utilice la rueda de navegación para
ajustar el volumen.
■ Aparecerá el nivel de volumen en el monitor
LCD. Se puede ajustar el nivel desde 00 a 19.
Si el volumen está ajustado a 00 no se oirá
nada.
■ Si cierra el monitor LCD durante la reproducción, no se oirá
ningún sonido por el altavoz.
✤ Cuando un cable MultiAV está conectado a la videocámara, el
altavoz no emite ningún sonido y no se puede ajustar el volumen.
✤ El sonido volverá cuando retire el cable Multi-AV conectado de la
toma de la videocámara.
