TIMER RECORDING
You can programme this unit to timer record as many as 8
programmes.
With the S
HOW V IEW system, timer programming is greatly
simplified because each TV programme has a corresponding code
number which your unit is able to recognise.
You can use the remote control to enter the S
HOW V IEW number.

Load a recordable disc.
● For details, refer to APlacing A DiscB (A pg. 5).

Press SHOWVIEW to
display the S
HOW V IEW
screen.

Press the number keys
to enter the
ASHOWVIEW NO.B of a
programme you wish to
record, then press
ENTER.
● If you have made a
mistake, press
CANCEL and input the correct number before you press
ENTER.
● To clear all entered numbers at a time, press CLEAR( o).
● If the number you entered is invalid, ASHOWVIEW NO. ERROR
CONFIRM SHOWVIEW NO. THEN RETRY B appears on the TV
screen. Input a valid ASHOWVIEW NO.B.
● If AGUIDE PROGRAMME IS NOT SET SELECT CHANNEL
YOU WANT TO RECORD B appears on the TV screen, set
Guide Programme number manually.
● When APROGRAMME FULL DELETE UNWANTED TIMER
PROGRAMME B appears on the TV screen, you need to cancel
some of the reserved programmes.

The ASHOWVIEW NO.B you entered and the matching timer
recording information are displayed on the TV screen. Check
the programme data. To cancel this setting, press RETURN.

Press selection keys to
select desired recording
option as required.

select the desired
setting, then press
ENTER.

Press ENTER to access the Programme Confirmation screen.

Press ENTER to complete the timer programming.
● To programme another timer, repeat steps 2 - 8.
● If APROGRAMME OVERLAPPEDB appears on the TV screen,
see AWhen Programmes Overlap Each OtherB (A pg. 53).

Press TIMER j to engage the unit’s timer mode.
● The unit turns off automatically and j appears on the front
display panel.
● To disengage the timer mode, press TIMER j again.
● There may be cases that the S HOW V IEW Timer Programming
function prolongs the stop time of the programming.
● When two successive programmes are recorded with the
S
HOW V IEW Timer Programming function, the ending of the first
programme or the beginning of the second programme may not
be recorded.
● If the copy limited programme is received during timer recording,
the unit enters Record Pause mode. Recording starts again if it is
switched to a recordable broadcast during the time you
programmed.
● TV DIRECT mode is activated when the unit turns on
automatically during S
HOW V IEW Timer Programming.
Daily/Weekly Recording Function
You can record programmes with one of the following weekly/daily
timer settings.

Timer Programming
● Turn on the unit.
● Turn on the TV and select an input mode such as EXT1.
● Set the remote control selector switch to AUDIO.
● Press DVD on the remote control.
● Make sure that the unit’s built-in clock is set properly.

IMPORTANT:
Make sure the channel position number you wish to record is
displayed. If not, see
AS HOW V IEW System Setup B (A pg. 78) and
set the Guide Programme number correctly.
IMPORTANT:
If you have moved to a different area or if a broadcasting
station’s channel number has been changed, the wrong channel
number will be displayed on the S
HOW V IEW programme screen
in step 4. When this happens, set the correct Guide Programme
number for that station.
WEEKLY Select to record a weekly programme.
MON-FRI Select to record a daily programme from Monday
through Friday.
MON-SAT Select to record a daily programme from Monday
through Saturday.
SUN-SAT Select to record a daily programme from Sunday
through Saturday.
