To install a board,
1. Power off the system.
2. Insert the board into the slot you chose, being careful to align the bottom of the

board with the card guides in the bottom of the slot.

Extractor handles

The extractor handles on the board should be in the unlocked, or open, position
(pointing outwards).
Push the board all the way in until the extractor handle grooves capture the side
beams of the slot, and use your thumbs to push the extractor handles in toward the
center to lock the board into place.
When the board is correctly plugged in, the blue light in the faceplate begins to
blink, and the red light is off.

Swapping a Power Supply

The MAX4000’s three power supplies, located in the back of the unit, are easily accessi-
ble and hot-swappable (removing or adding a power supply without shutting down the
system or MAXCS does not interfere with the operation of the system). Each power sup-
ply has its own power cord.
