Item Component Function
1 Power button When the notebook is:
■ Off, press the button and release to turn
on the notebook.
■ In Standby, press the button and release
to exit Standby.
■ In Hibernation, press the button and
release to exit Hibernation.
If the system has stopped responding
and Windows shutdown procedures
cannot be used, press and hold the button
for 5 seconds to turn off the notebook.
2 Caps lock LED On: Caps lock is on.
3 Num lock LED On: Num lock is on and the embedded
numeric keypad is enabled.
4 Display lid switch ■ If the notebook is closed while on, turns
off the display.
■ If the notebook is opened while in
Standby, turns on the notebook (resumes
from Standby).
5 TouchPad button Turns the TouchPad on or off.
6 TouchPad scroll area Scrolls upward or downward.
7 Left and right TouchPad
buttons Function like the left and right buttons on
an external mouse.
8 TouchPad Moves the pointer and selects or activates
items on the screen.
9 TouchPad LED On: TouchPad is enabled.
