Before contacting HP support, read this section for troubleshooting tips or go to
the online support services at www.hp.com/support.
Note: HP recommends using a USB cable of less than 10 feet (3 meters) in
length to minimize injected noise due to potential high magnetic fields.
The On/Attention light is
blinking amber.
An unrecoverable error has
occurred.
Turn off the printer. Unplug the
printer’s power cord, wait one
minute, then plug it in again.
Turn on the printer. If this does
not work, go to www.hp.com/
support or contact HP support.

The printer does not generate
borderless photo output.
You need to select the
appropriate paper size.

Check the amount of RAM
(system memory) and the
processor speed of your

Too many software programs
may be running at the same
time.
Close all unnecessary software
programs.
You may have Extend Colors
turned on.
Turn off the option by using the
printer’s M
ENU
button. For

You may be using outdated
printer software.
Update the version of the
printer software you are using.

You may have chosen
Maximum dpi (Windows) or
