Table 4 shows the button definitions for List Mode and Spell Mode screens.
With just a little practice, using the buttons correctly between the different
modes will be a matter of habit.
The following subsections describe List Mode and Spell Mode mechanisms
to be applied, regardless of which Main Menu option you choose.
Using List Mode
To select a name while in List Mode, follow these steps:
1. Assuming the screen is already in List Mode (List Mode is the default), use
the button to scroll down the list.
To skip quickly through the alphanumeric groupings use the or
arrows to quickly jump through the list of names. (e.g., Press the to
jump from the cities that begin with ‘C’ to the cities that begin with the
letter ‘D.’)
2. When the name you are looking for appears, use the or buttons to
highlight the correct name. If there are duplicate names, refer to the
“STATE” reference above the list when a name is highlighted.
3. When the correct name is highlighted, press .
These steps for selecting a name while in List Mode apply across the board,
