Forcefully ejecting the disc
In the following situation, you can forcefully
eject the disc by using the forced ejection
hole.
•
When the device has malfunctioned and
the disc cannot be ejected using the eject
button or through the software

Check that the computer power is
turned off, and that the disc has
stopped rotating.

Straighten a paper clip or similar
object, and insert this straight
into the forced ejection hole and
push hard.

The disc tray will come out by
5 mm (3/16 in.) to 10 mm (25/64 in.),
so pull out the tray and remove
the disc.
Note
• Never forcefully eject the tray while
the disc is still rotating, as doing so
may lead to injury or damage to the
disc.
• Do not place items within 12 cm (4-
23/32 in.) of the front of the device, as
doing so may obstruct disc ejection.
