Keep yourself, clothing and test equipment away from all moving or hot engine parts.
Before performing a test with the engine running, set the parking brake and place the geat selector in neutral or park and block the drive
wheels.
DO nOT use the tester when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medicines.
WArninG! High Tension ignition systems operate at a very high voltage. Care must be exercised whilst using this tester on such systems.
Store this in a safe, dry, childproof location.

2.1.
Assembling the tester.
2.1.1.
Attach the extension probe onto the tester’s probe tip.
2.1.2.
Press fit the signal receiver pad onto the extension probe.
2.2.
How to operate the tester.
2.2.1.
Turn on the tester by turning the rotary switch. To indicate the tester is on, the red and green LEDs rapidly flash alternately, and the tester
emits an ascending beeping sound for a short period. After use, until the tester is turned off, the green LED continues to slowly flash to
indicate the tester is on.
2.2.2.
With the engine running, firmly place the tester’s signal receiver pad against the COP’S body. Make sure the marked side of the pad
is towards the COP, adjust the sensitivity switch until the red and green LEDs flash simultaneously. As the tester relies on a
signal emitted from the COP body, it may be necessary to move the signal receiver pad around until the pad is in a position to pick up the
strongest signal.
note:
The strength of signal that each car produces is different, so you will need to adjust the sensitivity switch when you test another vehicle
until the red and green LEDs flash simultaneously.
2.2.3.
It is possible that a misfire may not develop whilst the engine is at idle, so it may be necessary to test the COP with raised engine revs.
2.2.4.
Continue testing each COP and compare the results.
2.3.
Test results.
2.3.1.
A consistent steady flashing red LED light, supported by an audible beeping indicates that the COP is producing the correct amount of
voltage. No response or an inconsistent reponse indicates that the COP is not producing the correct voltage. Possible causes are a fouled
spark plug or an incorrect gap, damaged or corroded connectors and wires, or a faulty coil.
2.3.2.
A consistent steady flashing green light indicates that the duration of the arc is correct. No response or an inconsistent response
indicates that the duration of the arc is not correct. Possible causes are shorted windings inside the coil, resistance or bad connections, or
a faulty coil.
2.3.3.
Refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s service instructions or proprietary manual to establish the current procedures for repairing or replacing
COP’s.
2.4.
Turning the tester off.
2.4.1.
Turn off the tester by turning the rotary switch until it clicks. The tester will also automatically turn off after approximately 2 minutes of
non-use. Before shutting off, both LED’s flash and a descending beeping sound is emitted.

3.1.
replacing the battery.
3.1.1.
Remove the two screws from the handle and carefully separate the two halves.
3.1.2.
Lift the metal contact and carefully remove the old battery. Replace with a new battery (CR2032). The positive ‘+’ side should be facing
uppermost.
3.2.
Signal Pad.
Visually inspect the signal pad for any damage. If any damage has been sustained, replace the signal pad.
3.3.
The red and green LED’s are non replaceable.
