WARNING! Ensure you read, understand and apply the Section 1 safety instructions. This tool is designed for nibbling

sheet metal, primarily in workshops and garages. We do not recommend it for any other use or materials.

4.1. Changing the punch and or die

4.1.1. Disconnect nibbling tool from the air line.

4.1.2. Note the orientation of the die Ø7 hole revealing the waisted part of the punch. This hole faces the feed direction of the nibbler.

4.1.3. Grip the aluminium alloy nibbler head (item 37) in a soft jaw vice.

4.1.4. With a 28mm A/F spanner undo the barrel nut (item 44).

4.1.5. Remove the die, which has four grooves in the mounting flange. These grooves enable four nibbler positions at 90° intervals.

4.1.6. Remove the punch by unscrewing the hexagon headed retainer (item 42) with a 9mm A/F spanner.

4.1.7. Inspect the punch and die for wear, replace or renew by reversing removal procedure. Apply grease liberally to both punch and die

when fitting and anticipate the nibbling direction.

4.2. Operating instructions:

4.2.1. Disconnect the nibbling tool from the air line.

4.2.2. If required, to improve access to the workpiece, the die can be rotated in 90° intervals through 360°, as indicated in 4.1.2 and 4.1.5.

To do this follow the instructions 4.1.3 and 4.1.4, then rotate the die to the required angle and tighten the barrel nut with a 28mm A/F

spanner on die spanner flats.

4.2.3. Ensure that the workpiece is marked out and secure.

4.2.4. Connect the air line to the nibbler.

4.2.5. Start the nibbler by depressing the trigger and introduce the nibbler die slot to the sheet metal to be shaped.

4.2.6. Apply light pressure only to move the tool in the desired direction through the metal.

4.2.7. The design shave depth is 0.6mm per stroke and the punch is Ø4.4mm, shearing efficiency can be affected using the adjustable

throttle valve situated in the moulded handle and shown in fig.3.

4.2.8. Exhaust air can be directed away from the user by rotating the exhaust baffle shown in fig.3.

WARNING! Disconnect the nibbler from the air supply before changing the punch and die, servicing or performing maintenance.

Replace or repair damaged parts. Use genuine parts only. Non-authorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.

5.1. If the air system does not have an oiler, lubricate the air nibbler daily with a few drops of the air tool oil, dripped into the air inlet before

use. (To order air tool oil use Sealey part Nos. ATO/500 or ATO1000.)

5.2. Loss of power or erratic action may be due to the following:

a) Excessive drain on the air line. Moisture or restriction in the air pipe. Incorrect size or type of hose connectors. To remedy, check the

air supply and follow instructions in section 3.

b) Grit or gum deposits in the nibbler may also reduce performance. If your model has an air strainer (located in the area of the air

inlet), remove the strainer and clean it. Flush the nibbler out with gum solvent oil or an equal mixture of SAE No 10 oil and kerosene.

Allow to dry before use. If you continue to experience problems, contact your local Sealey service agent.

5.3. For a full service contact your local Sealey service agent.

5.4. When not in use, disconnect from air supply, clean nibbler and store in a safe, dry, childproof location.

Environmental Protection.
