3 Description
3.1 Mode of Operation
The battery unit consists of the Battery Management System (BMS) and the bat-
tery module(s). The control unit monitors the function of the individual battery
module(s) and returns the status to the Energy Management System (EMS) of
the battery storage system.

NOTE
The Battery Management System (BMS) automatically monitors the
batteries and incorporates all safety functions.
Due to the communication between the battery charging unit /
battery backup converter (BBC), Battery Management System (BMS)
and higher level Energy Management System (EMS), the components
monitor one another and conduct a plausibility check on the meas-
urements.
In the event of a component failure, the system is shut down safely.
