1. Turn off inlet water supply, remove and discard existing
filter cartridge.
2. Remove TOP PLUG from JT can and pour in ScaleKleen.
l Small steam ovens, use 2.2 lb
l Large steam ovens (>10KW or >100,000 BTU) use
two JT cans
l
Coffee makers brewing one pot (1/2 gallon) per
cycle, use one 2.2 lb package
3. REPLACE TOP PLUG, insert the JT cartridge(s) into the
head assembly, and turn the inlet water on.
4. When the steps below are complete, replace the JT can
with a new Everpure
®
filter.
STEAM Application:
1. Flush JT until 1 gallon of water has passed through (a flow
rate of 2.0 gpm equals 2 minutes).
2. Turn on steam oven. After it reaches operating tempera-
ture, allow 30 minutes for ScaleKleen to remove scale.
Turn off steam oven.
3. Blowdown the boiler until pH of the effluent is within
one pH unit of the incoming (influent) water.
COFFEE Application:
1. Remove filter basket and spray head and dump the coffee
grounds. Place spray head in the target coffee pot.
2. Cycle coffee maker once, vending one pot. Let it sit for
30 minutes.
3. After 30 minutes, cycle coffee maker with 10 pots of
fresh water to flush the ScaleKleen from brewer. Check
the pH of the hot water – if it’s within one pH unit of
the incoming cold water, the ScaleKleen is flushed out.
