6.3 Determining free NetID
PV systems with SMA Bluetooth operating in close proximity to one another are distinguished by their
individual NetID. All devices in a PV system must have the same NetID. The NetID can be a number
from 1 to 9 or a letter from A to F. NetID 1 is not possible for Sunny Beam.
A free NetID is a NetID that is used by no other PV system with SMA Bluetooth in your vicinity.
Commission the Sunny Beam as described in section 6.4 . During the commissioning process, you
will receive instructions on how to detect a free NetID.
Overview of the NetIDs and their functions
NetID 0 and NetID 1 have special functions. Sunny Beam cannot detect any devices with the
NetID set to 1.
