• If you want to add a field to a sub-menu, select the sub-menu label in the menu
pane. The Add Child buttons for fields in the field selector become active.
2 To add a standard-metadata field to the menu, do the following in the Standard
Searches Available section.
• Select a field from the dropdown list.
• Check the entry in the Label box. This is the name that will appear in the menu for
the item. You may edit the entry later, if required.
• Click Add or Add Child.
The Menu Organiser adds the field to the menu pane.
3 To add a custom-metadata field to the menu, do the following in the Custom Items To
Search section.
• Select a metadata type from the dropdown list. SmartClient displays a list of fields
for this type in the Searchable Items list.
• Select a field in the Searchable Items list.
• Check the entry in the Label box. This is the name that will appear in the menu for
the item. You may edit the entry later, if required.
• Click Add or Add Child.
The Menu Organiser adds the field to the menu pane.
Adding a sub-menu to the menu
To add a sub-menu to the menu:
1 Do one of the following, depending on where you want to locate a sub-menu.
• If you want to add the sub-menu at the main level of the menu, ensure no sub-
menu label is selected in the menu pane.
• If you want to add the sub-menu within another sub-menu, select the label for that
sub-menu in the menu pane. The Add Child button in the field selector becomes
active.
2 Do the following in the Custom Items To Search section to add a label for the new sub-
menu.
• Enter the name for the sub-menu in the text box.
• Click Add or Add Child.
• Add fields the sub-menu as described above.
Deleting an item from the menu
To delete an item from the menu:
1 Select a field or sub-menu in the menu pane.
