Linking a Type to a Schema and Setting Metadata Inheritance
To link a type to a schema:
1 In the Types list, select a metadata type.
2 The type name appears in the Name box under Selected Type Details.
3 Edit the Name if required.
4 In the Schema box, select a schema from the dropdown list of available schemas.
5 Select the Inherit check box if you want co-references to share metadata of this type.
clear the check box if you want to cancel this option.
6 Click Save Type.
Note:
Inheritance of metadata:
• Inherited metadata between co-references can be annotated and all other
associated assets will reference the latest instance.
• Inherited metadata associated with an EDIT is read only and can only be
changed when you annotate the source assets.
Setting Field Properties
As you add fields to a schema, you set various properties for them. These properties are
listed in the Field Details section, to the right of the Fields list box, when a field is selected.
The Display As property sets the field type.
