8921DAC 4-Channel Audio
D-A Converter
Introduction
The 8921DAC provides conversion of two digital audio streams (balanced
or unbalanced) to four balanced processed analog audio channels and four
balanced buffered AES outputs. In addition to conversion, it offers inde-
pendent delay controls for each channel to compensate for external video
processing.
The 8921DAC features the following:
•
Two AES digital audio inputs with:
•
Support of both balanced (110
Ω
) and unbalanced inputs (75
Ω
) AES
input stream
•
Presence and error detection on each input pair
•
Sample rate support of 32 kHz to 96 kHz
•
Auto-detection of emphasis (50/15) with status report
•
Sample word length of up to 24 bits
•
Four balanced analog audio outputs with:
•
24-bit DAC D-to-A conversion
•
Independent control of each analog audio channel including:
•
Channel pairing
•
Level adjustment
•
Swapping, summation, phase inversion
•
Delay up to 5.4 seconds
•
Test tone generation
•
Four buffered balanced AES outputs as two groups of two AES streams
for AES input dual distribution (without reclocking),
•
Remote web browser and Newton Control Panel interface with the
8900NET module.
