11 VEB scheme configuration example
Network requirements
As shown in Figure 27 , VMware, VRM, and VCM have been deployed. The edge switch provides
network access for ESXi host A and ESXi host B. Create a VM on ESXi A to provide file services and
configure corresponding QoS settings.

Configure the VCM VEB scheme to meet the following requirements:
• The administrator can issue the network policies to the network policies from the edge switch
connected to the VMs when the VMs are started and delete the network policies when the VMs are
shut down.
• When the VMs migrate between the ESXi hosts, the network policies are moved along with the
VMs automatically.
• VCM automatically deletes the network policies from the edge switch connected to the VMs when
the VMs are deleted.
Configuration procedures
The VCM VEB scheme configuration includes the following tasks:
• Adding a SOAP template
• Adding the edge switch and the two ESXi hosts to IMC
• Synchronizing devices
