Pumps with a cast iron power frame and a triple lip seal: fitting
the sealing system
l Push the shaft sleeve fitted with the seal housing over the shaft and into posi-
tion, the chamfered, lip-seal end of the shaft sleeve first. The shaft sleeve is
a tight push fit. Be sure to push it all the way home. The shaft sleeve has an
alignment lug inside it which must be aligned with the shaft splines.
l Push the seal housing into the shaft sleeve.
l Push the rear liner into position below the shaft sleeve, pushing evenly at both
ends so that it does not jam. The anti-rotation pins within the pump housing
(arrowed) guarantee that the liner is properly positioned. The two liners are
identical.
