PU 2.0 System Operations
Activating a PU:
This varies a PU active. All subservient LUs with ISTATUS=ACTIVE are also varied
active. ‘xxxxxxxx’ represents the VTAM name for the PU.

This varies a PU active along with all subservient LUs, including those with
ISTATUS=INACTIVE. ‘xxxxxxxx’ represents the VTAM name for the PU.

Displaying the PU Status:
This displays the status of the named PU. ‘xxxxxxxx’ represents the VTAM name of the
PU.

NET,ID=xxxxxxxx
This displays the status of the named PU along with the subservient LUs. ‘xxxxxxxx’
represents the VTAM name of the PU.

NET,ID=xxxxxxxx,E
Displaying the LU Status:
This displays the status of a specific LU. ‘xxxxxxxx’ represents the VTAM name of the
LU.

Inactivate a PU:
This varies a node inactive, but only if there are no active sessions. ‘xxxxxxxx’ represents
the VTAM name of the PU.

This varies a node inactive even if there are active sessions. This should cause an orderly
termination of sessions prior to deactivation.

This forces a node inactive, and should not be used unless you have already attempted to
vary the node inactive using the commands shown above. Using this command can result
in a mismatch of status between VTAM and the resource.
