2.1.2.3.8 J8 - RF Input

J8 "RF IN" Type 11

- J8 (50 ohm) accepts the output of an LNB (950-2150MHZ, -50 to –5dBm.).

Internally, this input goes through a splitter (3 dB) and supplies the L-Band power detector and the
optional DVB receiver. The L-Band power detector module inside the Options Board produces an output
proportional to the broadband energy received. When this input is being used, it is indicated on RC3000
screens as the “RF” signal source. See sections 4.1.10.1 and 3.3.1.2.5 regarding use of the L-Band
power detector input.

??? The RF autopeak circuitry includes a “DC block”. ????

If additional routing of RF input is required, a small "Auxillary RF" board may be attached to the mounting
points used for the internal GPS module. If both the Auxillary RF board and the internal GPS are to be
used, they may be stacked together with the RF board on top.
