Introducing the PC-CARD-DAS16/330
Overview: PC-CARD-DAS16/330 features
This manual explains how to install and use the PC-CARD-DAS16/330. This board is an ultra high-speed
analog input and digital I/O data acquisition and control board for PCMCIA bus computers with Type II slots.
Analog signals are routed to the A/D converter via a 16:1 single-ended multiplexer controlled by a register on
the card.
The input range is fully programmable in two bipolar ranges: ± 10 VDC or ± 5 VDC. You can trigger A/D
conversions with the on-board pacer clock, external pacer input or with software polling. The maximum sample
rate is 330 kHz.
Data may be transferred through software polling, an interrupt service or REP-INSW. A 4K sample FIFO
provides buffering between the A/D circuit and the PCMCIA bus. Half-full signaling from the FIFO permits
simultaneous loading and unloading of the FIFO, assuring that no samples are lost.
The board has eight digital I/O available on two 4-bit ports. The digital channels are software configurable as
eight inputs, eight outputs or four inputs and four outputs, and allow you to sense and control discrete events.
All signals pass through a 50-pin high-density connector. The board is completely plug-and-play, with no
switches or jumpers to set.
