Chapter 1 Product Introduction
Floppy disk connector
This connector accommodates the provided ribbon cable for the floppy disk
drive. One side of the connector is slotted to prevent incorrect insertion of
the floppy disk cable.
Flash Rom
This 4Mb firmware contains the programmable BIOS program.
Serial ATA connectors
These connectors support Serial ATA HDDs and allow for up to 150MB/s
data transfer rate, faster than the standard Parallel ATA with 133MB/s.
IDE connectors
These dual-channel bus master IDE connectors support Ultra DMA 133/
100/66/33 devices. Both the primary (blue) and secondary (white)
connectors are slotted to prevent incorrect insertion of the IDE ribbon cable.
South Bridge controller
Referred to as the SiS 964 MuTIOL Media I/O, this controller integrates the
audio controller with AC’97 interface, SATA RAID controller, Ethernet MAC
(optional), Universal Serial Bus Host controller, IDE Master/Slave controllers
and the MuTIOL Connect to PCI Bridge.
PCI Slots
These five 32-bit PCI 2.3 expansion slots support bus master PCI cards
like SCSI or LAN cards with 133MB/s maximum throughput.
10/100M LAN PHY (optional)
The RTL8201BL is a single-port PHY ceiver with an MII (Media Independent
Interface) and supports 10/100 Mbps data transfer rate.
Audio CODEC
The ALC650 is an AC’97 CODEC that allows 6-channel audio playback. The
audio CODEC provides six DAC channel for 5.1 surround sound, S/PDIF
input/output and Line-in stereo inputs, integrated headphone amplifier,
greater than 90dB dynamic range with the jack sense and jack enumeration
feature.
