INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADJUSTING OR REPLACING THE BELT
BELT ADJUSTMENT
The belt on your chipper is tensioned with a spring-loaded idler arm and pulley. With this
system there is no tensioning adjustment required.
BELT REPLACEMENT
To replace the belt on your chipper, proceed as follows.
• Remove the four bolts holding the belt guard in place.
• Pull out on idler arm to take the pressure off the belt.
• Slide the belt out and around idler arm.
• Let idler arm relax to a position inside the belt. The spring will pull the idler arm to this
position.
• Remove worn or damaged belt.
• Install new belt.
• With the belt on both pulleys, pull out on idler arm and push the belt behind the idler arm and
pulley.
• Let spring loaded idler arm rest against the belt. Make sure the belt is inside the edges of
the idler pulley.
• Reattach belt guard to machine.
