Modules and Drivers

The module and driver board are a single functional unit.
Each module assembly is made up of a module housing
(containing LEDs and the driver) and a louver assembly.

To remove a module, complete the following steps:

1. Locate the latch access fasteners on the module.

One is centered below the top row of pixels and
one is centered above the bottom row

2. With a 1/8"Allen wrench, turn the latch fasteners

a quarter turn as shown in

Figure 36

. The top one

should be turned clockwise and the bottom one
counter-clockwise

3. Pull the display module far enough to reach

around the back and disconnect the ribbon and
power cables

When installing a module, reverse the previous steps and
take note of the following points:

The weather-stripping on the back edge of the module must be intact and in
good condition if it is to prevent water from seeping into the display

The module latches must be fully engaged to create a watertight seal around
the edge of the module. The module should be firmly seated against the
display when the latches are fully engaged

The LED power supplies are identified as assemblies. Each power supply unit
controls four modules; a power supply assembly (three power supplies) controls
eight. The LED power supplies assemblies are identified 0A-1241-4001and 0A-
1213-4034 in the Component Layout Drawings.

Complete the following steps to remove a power supply from the display:

1.

Remove the module directly in front of the failed power supply – refer to
the Component Drawings for power supply locations

2.

Disconnect and label all the wires connected to the power supply

3.

Remove the hardware holding the power supply in place to free the unit

4.

Follow these steps in reverse order to install a new power supply – refer to
the display’s Schematic when reconnecting the wires
