This chapter provides instructions on how to configure the
interface.
S e n d i n g P a c k e t s
The interface can be configured through any of the 3 inputs by sending a
packet. These commands indicate which feature to change and its new
value. A packet can be sent at the DOS prompt or in a file (DOS copy
command). The format is:
Syntax
&%SXXYYSXXYY..$
&%
Start of Header (SOH).
S
Indicates the start of a sequence.
XX
Is the feature number in hex (lead-in characters)
(See Appendix D).
YY
Is the value in hex of the feature.
$
End of Header (EOH).
Example
&%S0201$
This sets the coax printer to a value of 3287.
When setting features, only hex values may be used.
See Appendix B, “Decimal to Hex Conversion”, for
more information.
The interface does not check the feature values. Only valid values
should be sent. See Appendix C, “Features and Values”, for the values.
