Operating the Interface 3-3
C h a r a c t e r T r a n s l a t i o n P r o g r a m m i n g
The interface can download character translation tables. The process is
similar to setting feature values. The following format is used to
download character translation:
Syntax
&%S99NNXXYYXXYY...XXYY$
&%
SOH
S99
activates the translation feature
NN
is the number of translated characters to
send
XX
is the character being replaced
YY
is the new character
$
EOH
For example, to print an "A" every time the printer received a "1", and to
print a "B" every time the printer received a "2" the sequence would look
like:
Syntax
&%S990231413242$
Make sure that no more than 30 characters are being translated.
Whenever a new character translation sequence is programmed, any
previously translated characters are lost. All character translations must
be sent at one time: you can NOT add to previously translated characters.
