2.3.2 Installing the RTM
To begin the installation of the RTM in a chassis, proceed as follows:
Installing the RTM with IEEE Handles
1. Attach an ESD strap to your wrist. Attach the other end of the ESD strap to the chassis as a
ground. The ESD strap must be secured to your wrist and the chassis to ground throughout
the procedure.
2. Turn all equipment power OFF and disconnect the power cable from the AC power source.
3. Remove the chassis cover as instructed in the equipment user's manual.
4. Remove the filler panel(s) from the appropriate card slot(s) at the rear of the chassis (if the
chassis has a rear card cage).
5. Install the top and bottom edge of the RTM into the rear guides of the chassis.
