Where W
= Weighting network
selected.
If
Ø then
= Linear response,
1 then
= A-weighting.
The D version format is as follows:

Where WC
= Weighting network

If
ØØ then
= Linear + external
filter,
Ø1 then
= C-weighting,
1Ø then
= A-weighting +
external filter,
11 then
= A-weighting.
In all versions, the remaining four bits (F)
indicate the parameter coded as follows:
ØØØØ
= Battery level,
ØØØ1
= SPL (or 1SM),
ØØ1Ø
= Maximum,
ØØ11
= Duration,
Ø1ØØ
= L
Tm5
(CEL-493/3 &
B version),
Ø1ØØ
= L
OSHA
(D version),
Ø1Ø1
= L
Tm3
(CEL-493/3 &
B version),
Ø1Ø1
= L
DOD
(D version),
Ø11Ø
= SEL,
Ø111
= L
eq
,
1ØØØ
= General reset during
last 0.5 s.
For example 11ØØØ11Ø indicates A-
weighted SEL value for CEL-493/3 and B
version, or A-weighting plus external fil-
tered SEL value for D version.
Byte 2
This contains encoded details of the
selected time weighting, the status of re-
set, pause, and overload functions, plus
the hundreds digits from the results in
ASCII code with the following format:

11 then
= Peak.
Where FR
= Reset button.
If: 1 then
= Current function
reset during last
0.5 s.
Where P
= Pause button.
If: 1 then
= Instrument paused.
Where B
= Battery condition.
If: 1 then
= Battery low.
Where V
= Overload function.
If: 1 then
= Overload indicated.
Where H
= Hundreds digit from
result.
If: Ø then

range 48-57 corresponding to a decimal
value in the range between 0 and 9.
For example if Byte 3 = ØØ11Ø11Ø,
which corresponds to ASCII 6, the
tens digit will be 6.
