The C5681/1 (1 m) cable supplied is also
used to connect the arrangement to a
CEL-284/2 Calibrator for electrical calibra-
tion at 100 mV. Refer to Figure 12 for ca-
bles to be used with the earlier type
CEL-177 Calibrators.
Vibration is detected by the accelerome-
ter which emits a voltage signal propor-
tional to the acceleration level. The
voltage is passed via the integrator to the
sound level meter where it is measured
and displayed as a decibel level.
One or two stages of integration may be
selected, so the meter may display dis-
placement, velocity, or acceleration levels
that can be easily converted to appropri-
ate units using the slide rule provided.
7.3Recording With CEL-
238A, CEL-338, & CEL-
438 Digital Recorders &
Analysers (B, D &
CEL-493/3)
These instruments contain a CEL low
power interface and can be connected to
the CEL-238A Secondary Processor, CEL-
338 Graphics Printer & Logger, and CEL-
438 Noise Level Analyser which store
data digitally and have their own micro-
processors to manage all the control and
calculation procedures they can perform.
A standard C4530/2 (2 m) Cable connects
the CEL digital recorder/ analyser to the
sound level meter auxiliary socket as
shown in Figure 13.
The auxiliary sockets of CEL filter sets
have similar pin identities, so that the
same connecting cable can also be used
with them.
