Make sure the barrel and receiver are free of obstructions and excessive

lubricant after cleaning. Be sure not to leave cleaning patches or excessive

oil or grease in the bore as they can create dangerous obstructions.

Obstructions of any kind can cause damage to the firearm and may result

in serious personal injury to the shooter and/or others nearby.

Camouflage firearms: Caution should be exercised to avoid exposure of

camouflage patterns to solvents or insect repellants.

ASSEMBLY AND FINAL LUBRICATION

Wipe off any powder residue from the action spring and buffer assembly. Insert

the action spring and buffer assembly into the receiver extension on the lower

receiver. Place the extractor in its slot on the bolt and insert the extractor pin.

Rotate the gas rings on the bolt so that the gaps are equally spaced (Fig. 47).
