6.9
Flammable Display
The gas detector is calibrated to provide an output signal linearised for methane during manufacture.
The flammable infrared sensor cannot detect hydrogen because this gas is not infrared active.
However, Hydrogen can be detected up to 100% LEL by the inclusion of an appropriate electrochemical sensor.
However the gas detector will also respond to a range of hydrocarbon gases. The characteristics shown in the table below
demonstrate the relative response to some of the common hydrocarbons.

OTE
: If Ethane, Propane, Butane, Pentane or Ethylene gases are to be detected accurately then the PGDxx unit should be equipped
with a Propane sensor.

Set LCD Contrast
The visual contrast of the 2 line by 16-character liquid crystal display can be adjusted via the menu button (Section 6.4).
From the menu the user is prompted to press the up arrow key:
Sequential operation of the up arrow key, increases contrast. The right arrow key decreases the contrast.

PGD Serial No.
The serial number of the instrument may be viewed via the menu button (Section 6.4).
The serial number given should correspond with that shown on the rear cover nameplate.
