SPARK PLUG
The spark plug should be cleaned (see figure 24)
and the gap reset to a 0.030-inch clearance once a
season (see figure 25). Spark plug replacement Is
recommended
at
the
start
of
each
mowing
season; check engine manual for correct plug
type.
BELT REPLACEMENT (See Figure 26)
NOTE
Whenever the spark plug is removed
for cleaning, it is advisable to re
place the spark plug gasket with a
new gasket.
IMPORTANT
Always stop engine and disconnect
spark plug wire before performing
any repairs or maintenance on the
mower.
1. Remove the drive pinion cover by removing
three hex self-tapping screws. A 3/8" wrench
is required.
2. Remove both tension springs. See figure 26.
3. Using a screwdriver, remove the E-rings and
pinions on both wheels.
4. Remove the shoulder bolt, lock washers and
nut on the belt cover.

5. Remove the engagement rod.
6. Slide the belt cover to the left.
7. Unhook the belt from the Idler and the pulleys.
8. Remove the shoulder bolt, lock washer and
nut from the cover support bracket.

9. Remove belt and reassemble in reverse order
with a new belt.
