Before moving needle position and stitch
width selectors make sure needle is above
fabric.
To produce a Flexi-Stitch pattern, the
stitch width selector must be moved from
the straight-stitch setting j , to a setting
from I to j . Stitch
Width Is increased
as the selector is moved to the right.
ADJUSTING STITCH PLACEMENT
flexFStitch patterns can be sewn In either
L (left), X (center) or J (right)
needle positions. Center needle position
X is recommended.
ADJUSTING NEEDLE-THREAD
Make a test sample with the fabric, thread,
and presser foot you plan to use so that
you can adjust tension to suit the stitch
pattern you have chosen.
For your test sample, set the tension dial
on 3 or 4. Notice the stitching; if the
fabric puckers, decrease tension by turn­
ing the dial to a lower number. Sew at
moderatespeed.
