General description of
Teletext
If Teletext is being broadcast it gives
you a wide variety of information on all
kinds of subjects by headings and
pages.
The remote control has the following
buttons (with symbols in yellow):
M Teletext on
D Return to TV programme
(2 Teletext with TV programme
X Interruption of Teletext
Double height
Stop changing pages
9 Time code/subcode
? Concealed information
0..9 Page selection buttons
◄E Page numbers run back
=► Page numbers run up
<3* Call up memory
Enter in memory
The functions of the various Teletext
symbols are given later in the text.

After Teletext has been switched on, an
information line appears on the top of
the screen. Depending on your
selection, the following may be
indicated here:
® = the number of the page which is
on the screen (possibly combined with
time code, subcode or stop changing
pages).

) = the number of the page coming
onto the screen (possibly combined
with time code or subcode). The colour
is normally green, but once the page
has been found the colour becomes
white and this page number comes into
position at ® on the information line.
@ = the page number which is stored.

(5) = the Teletext symbol and,
depending on use, the symbol for
double height or concealed
information.
Operating Teletext
Switching on/off
Select the required TV station on which
Teletext is transmitted.
• To switch on: Press button
Page number 100 (generally the
contents) now appears on the screen.
• To switch off: Press button O.
In the following description of the
Teletext functions it is assumed that
Teletext has been switched on.
Page selection
The page number always consists of 3
digits (e.g. 120).
Note 1: Page numbers which begin
with 0 or 9 do not exist. If 0 or 9 is
selected as the first digit, this incorrect
selection is indicated by P-.. on the
information line.
Note 2: If you have pressed a wrong
digit button, you must first complete a
combination of three digits and then
select the correct page number again.
A. Direct page selection
Page selection:
• Select the required page with the
digit buttons on the remote control.
The page number selected is now
visible in green on the information line.
When the selected page number has
been found, this page number is
displayed in white.
(If the chosen page number is still
displayed in green, then the page
number selected is not being
broadcast at that moment.)
Calling up the page:
• Press button <$•.
If you do not select a new page
number, the set will automatically
search for the next page number.
• Press button <3* again, if you want to
display this page.
