Connecting the Two Units
BACK OF SPEAKER
SPEAKER CONNECTIONS
Your new RCA audio system includes a Tuner/Amplifier unit and a
CD/Cassette unit. These are designed so that the CD/Cassette unit rests on
top of the Tuner/Amplifier unit.
• Connect the SYSTEM CONTROL plug on the back of the Tuner/Amplifier
unit to the SYSTEM CONTROL receptacle on the back of the CD/Cassette
unit. Note that the plug has one row of nine pins and one row of eight
pins. Insert the plug so that its pins fit into the corresponding slots in the
receptacle.
NOTE: Press the plug snugly into place to assure a complete connection.
Never connect or disconnect with power on!

Your system comes equipped with two front and two surround (rear) speaker
terminals. All speakers connect to terminals located on the back of Tuner/
Amplifier unit. You should connect the front speakers first.
To connect the two front speakers:
• Connect one speaker wire to the terminals on back of one front speaker.
Press tabs to open, and insert end of white-striped wire in red (+) terminal
and end of black wire in black (•) terminal.
• Run the speaker wire to the terminals labeled FRONT SPEAKERS on back
of the Tuner/Amplifier unit and connect to the Left (L) set of terminals. In
sert end of white-striped wire in red (+) terminal and end of black wire in
black (-) terminal.
• Connect the second front speaker in the same way, using the Right (R) ter
minals: white-striped wire to red {+) terminal, black wire to black (-)
terminal.
