CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Erase Protection
Your CasseRe Deck erases whatever is on a tape when it records new
material. To protect a tape from accidental erasure, break off one or both
plastic tabs (one for each tape side) on the back of the cassette. If you later
decide to record on the tape, seal over the hole with a piece of cellophane
tape.

TROUBLE CHECKS
Use the suggestions below to check out problems. If a problem persists, or if you suspect the CD
player is malfunctioning, contact your RCA dealer for service.
Problem
What to Do
System does not turn on
Be sure power cord is firmly inserted in appropriate AC power
outlet.
Check the outlet by plugging another device into it.
Check for full engagement of the SYSTEM CONTROL plug that
connects the Tuner/Amplifier unit and the CD/Cassette unit.
No sound
• Adjust volume setting.
• Check for proper connection of speaker wires.
• Be sure you’ve selected the correct source: TUNER, TAPE, CD or
AUX.
• Be sure MUTE is not activated (red indicator on VOLUME dial
flashes).To deactivate, press MUTE button on the remote control.
No sound from one channel
Check for proper connection of speaker wires on the channel (Left
or Right).
Check BALANCE setting and adjust sound distribution if
necessary.
