FIBER OPTIC BUNDLE

Keep ends of fiber optic bundle clean by wiping with a damp cloth. Allow to dry before
use.

Avoid scratching or striking ends of fiber optic bundle. Light transmission losses can
result.

To inspect fiber optic bundle for light transmission losses, remove from light source and
headlight assembly. Hold one end of fiber optic bundle up to room lighting. Examine
other end. Replace fiber optic bundle if 25% or more of end area is dark.

SOFT HEADBAND

If soft headband becomes soiled, replace with catalog part number 49536.

JOYSTICK

Joystick can be sterilized by steam autoclave. Unscrew from luminaire and process in
standard steam autoclave.

CAUTION:

The ends of the fiber optic bundle must be clean before each use. High
intensity light will be absorbed by

any residue (including cleaning and

disinfecting solutions) on the surface of the fiber optic. Absorbed light will
overheat the residue causing damage to the fiber optic bundle.
